Next level of UIZ in Geoinformatic Research

As a technical research based company with international access, approach and support, UIZ is constantly working on new projects in the fields of Geoinformatics, Water Resources Management, IT Solution, Training and BPO services. A few projects that have already been successfully accomplished are, for example, the Influence of industrialization and urbanization in Bareilly district, Uttar Pradesh, India and also the Carbon Sequestration status at community forest, Kathmandu, Nepal. Further accomplished or also current ongoing research and development projects can be found on our website uizentrum.de.

This report given broaches the issue of two successfully accomplished research projects of two UIZ members. On the one hand, the EMAIV research project accomplished by Roman Popov, which is, to be more precise, a UIZ product and a webGIS application for monitoring, analyzing and visualizing environmental data over Internet and, on the other hand, the land use planning research project which was also successfully accomplished by Thijs Bongers.

The project manager of the EMAIV research project was Roman Popov. The objective of this project, which has now been successfully realized, was the development of a WebGIS for Nepal. It included a visualization and an analysis component as well as a component to upload new data through the user. Roman mainly dealt with the visualization component (browser application for visualization of environmental data).

The project manager of the second research project was Thijs Bongers. He mainly dealt with the optimum land use planning in order to enhance water availability so that the livelihood based ecosystem services in the Chitwan Annapurna Landscape is sustained.

Both UIZ research projects were successfully accomplished by both project managers.
