Remote Sensing Services
UIZ serves as an accurate and cost-effective way to collect data and proves to be an important input for planning, designing and management of mapping projects. Our Remote Sensing Services include classification, image correction, image enhancement, image processing and change detection services.
UIZ offers Remote Sensing Services by creating data to analyse and compare aspects of an environmental habitat like forestry, vegetation, land use, water resources, weather, pollution, erosion, etc. The UIZ technical team has good hands on experience in using Remote Sensing Software.
Remote sensing services in verticals:
- Satellite Imagery Interpretation and Classification.
- Classification-supervised and unsupervised.
- Change detection.
- Slope aspect analysis.
- Land cover classification.
- Coastal ecosystem management.
- Forestry mapping.
- Agricultural mapping.
- Mining and Geology mapping.
- Environmental impact assessment mapping.
- Clutter data for Wireless telecommunication mapping.
- Watershed management.
Our Remote Sensing Services team operates in conjunction with our research and developmental team.

Water Resources Mapping
Remote sensing and GIS are powerful tools for developing water resource mapping solutions such as assessing water quality and managing water resources on a local or regional scale. UIZ's Hydrogeologists use remote sensing and GIS technology to integrate various data and applications. These tools contained in our hydro department help with facilitating the creation, manipulation, and display of hydro features and objects within the GIS environment.
Mining and Geology Mapping
UIZ typically uses Aerial imagery acquired from hyperspectral and multispectral imaging sensors such as Landsat, ASTER, AVIRIS, and Hyperion for geological surveys, alteration zones mapping, and geomorphology applications. Satellite imagery carefully correlated with ground truth data is also used to assess changes due to natural events such as volcanic eruptions, floods, and earthquakes. The important aspects of these research based studies are supported by ground truth data collected with field portable spectroradiometers.
Forestry remote sensing and GIS services are often required by government and commercial agencies to perform value assessments for certification and funding, policy recommendations and regulatory compliance. UIZ forestry mapping using GIS and Remote Sensing technologies provides your own up-to-date maps on your desired scale in the fields of forest management, watershed management, desertification combat, biodiversity management, environmental monitoring and evaluation, etc. The forest mapping team works closely with the UIZ's research team.
UIZ uses imagery data for different spatial, spectral and temporal resolutions for agricultural mapping and crop assessment, crop health, change detection, environmental analysis, irrigated landscape mapping, yield determination and soil analysis. Remote sensing and GIS application in agriculture is used for developing elevation models for efficient drainage and leveling, managing assets and environmental preservation.
