Water Cycle

Water availability, quality and quantity are becoming increasingly large problems for many countries across the world. Better water resource planning and management requires a fundamental understanding of the water cycle, water climate and water ecosystem interactions and impacts of human activities in the different climate systems across the world. Global hydrological monitoring, hydrological modelling and data assimilation need to quantify hydroclimatic variables for effectively addressing water resources planning and management in our dynamic world. This UIZ cluster provides research and consultancy services in the water field.

Climate

Climate change is becoming an increasingly large challenge for our planet. Better climate resource planning and management requires a fundamental understanding of the climate cycle, climate ecosystem interactions and impacts of human activities in the Earth’s climate system.

Hydrological Monitoring

Global hydrological monitoring, hydrological modelling and data assimilation need to quantify hydroclimatic variables in order to effectively address water resource planning and management in today’s dynamic world. This UIZ cluster provides research and consultancy services in the hydrological field.
