Remote sensing has enabled the ability to map, study, monitor and manage water resources. It has further enabled the ability to monitor water environments and thereby can assist in water conservation. In the last four decades, water resource mapping has became a major tool for collecting information, visualization and management. With the addition of extremely high spatial resolution satellites in recent years, the applications have multiplied.
